Outdoor Cinema Hire
At Proscreens, we’ve been delivering outdoor cinema experiences for nearly 30 years. As one of the original companies in the field, we pioneered outdoor screenings at a time when framed screens were the only option, long before inflatable screens and LED displays became viable for movies. Alongside companies like Filmair and AVcon, we were at the forefront of outdoor cinema. While many of our peers have since retired or moved on, we’re proud to continue serving our loyal clients, including schools, councils, and community groups, year after year.
Today, the outdoor cinema market is more crowded than ever, but our commitment to quality and honesty sets us apart. We’re not afraid to say “no” when conditions aren’t right for a successful event. Our outdoor cinema season is weather-dependent, and we don’t run events in heavy rain or the harsh winter cold. If the risk is too great, we won’t hesitate to advise against proceeding.
We’re open to creative and unusual ideas, as long as they’re technically achievable. Over the years, we’ve handled a variety of unique and challenging setups for outdoor cinema. However, our priority is always ensuring that the event works smoothly and provides the best possible experience for our clients.
When you choose Proscreens, you’re partnering with a company that values honesty, technical excellence, and long-standing relationships with our customers. Let us help you create a memorable outdoor cinema event.

Being that we have been in the industry so long we have put together packages that both work efficiently and safely. In the early days, we used to use a framed screen which we wouldn`t recommend because of health and safety and the wind. Generally, the outdoor cinema setup consists of an inflatable screen which is rear projection. Rear outdoor projection means that the projector is run from behind the screen ticking all the boxes for health and safety. Ideally, the projector runs from the back of the van if access is available. We are very lucky to have regular customers throughout the UK who use our outdoor cinema solution year in year out
